Morning: Central Greece & Chaeronea
- Pick-up from your hotel or preferred location
- Drive through central Greece toward Mount Parnassus
- Short stop at Chaeronea to view the Lion monument, commemorating the historic battle of 338 BC
- Passing through the mountain village of Arachova
Midday: Delphi Archaeological Site
- Arrival at Delphi, once considered the “omphalos”, or navel of the world, in ancient Greek mythology
- Visit to the Sanctuary of Apollo, the center of the Delphic Oracle
- Exploration of the Temple of Apollo, where the Pythia delivered her prophecies
- Visit to the Castalian Spring, the Temple of Athena Pronaia, the ancient theatre, and the stadium
- Overview of the political and religious importance of the Oracle in shaping decisions across the Greek world
Delphi Archaeological Museum
- Visit to the Archaeological Museum of Delphi
- Viewing of significant artifacts from the excavations, including the bronze Charioteer (5th century BC) and the statue of Antinoos
- Approximate duration of site and museum visit: three hours
