Itinerary
Morning: Corinth Canal & Ancient Corinth
- Pick-up from your hotel or preferred location
- Scenic drive along the coastal highway toward the Argolis region, with views toward the island of Salamis, site of the historic naval battle of 480 BC
- Stop at the Corinth Canal, a 19th-century engineering achievement connecting mainland Greece to the Peloponnese
- Time for photographs and a short break
- Arrival at Ancient Corinth
- Visit to the Temple of Apollo, dating to the 6th century BC and built in the Doric order
- Exploration of the archaeological site, including the fountains of Glauke and Peirene, the theatre, the marketplace, and Roman-era remains
- Optional visit to the Archaeological Museum of Ancient Corinth
Midday: Mycenae
- Drive through olive groves, orchards, and vineyards toward Mycenae
- Entry to the citadel through the Lion Gate
- Walk along the Cyclopean walls, constructed with massive stone blocks
- Visit to the Archaeological Museum of Mycenae
- Visit to the Tomb of Agamemnon (Treasury of Atreus)
Afternoon: Nafplion
- Scenic drive to Nafplion, the first capital of the modern Greek state
- Orientation walk through the historic center
- View of the Castle of Palamidi
- Visit to Akronafplia, the ancient fortified citadel overlooking the town
Optional Extension: Epidaurus
- Optional visit to the Sanctuary of Asclepius, the god of medicine
- Visit to the ancient Theatre of Epidaurus, renowned for its exceptional acoustics
