This full-day private tour combines the highlights of classical Athens with one of the most historically significant regions of the Peloponnese. It offers a balanced experience between iconic monuments, scenic landscapes, and important archaeological sites.
The day begins with early access to the Acropolis for a more comfortable visit, followed by a panoramic drive through central Athens. The second part of the tour transitions beyond the city, toward the Corinth Canal and Ancient Corinth, a major power of the ancient Greek world.
The itinerary is designed to provide historical depth, geographical contrast, and a relaxed pace throughout the day.
Itinerary
Morning: The Acropolis & Classical Athens
- Pick-up from your hotel or preferred location
- Visit to the Acropolis* via the Propylaea gateway
- Exploration of the Parthenon, the Temple of Athena Nike, and the Erechtheion with its famous Caryatids
- Panoramic views over Athens, including the Ancient Agora, the Odeon of Herodes Atticus, and the Theatre of Dionysus
- Scenic drive through central Athens, passing Hadrian’s Arch, the Temple of Olympian Zeus, and the Panathenaic Stadium (Kallimarmaro)
- Stop at Syntagma Square to observe the Changing of the Guard at the Presidential Mansion and view the House of Parliament and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier
- Passing by the Athenian Trilogy (National Library, University, Academy) and the neoclassical buildings along Vasilissis Sofias Avenue
Midday: Corinth Canal
- Drive toward the Peloponnese countryside
- Stop at the Corinth Canal, a 19th-century engineering achievement connecting the Aegean and Ionian Seas
- Time for photographs and a short refreshment break
Afternoon: Ancient Corinth
- Arrival at Ancient Corinth, one of the most powerful city-states of antiquity
- Visit to the Temple of Apollo, dating to the 6th century BC
- Exploration of the archaeological site, including the Agora, Roman remains, fountains of Glauke and Peirene, and the ancient theatre
- Historical context regarding Saint Paul’s presence in Corinth and the city’s significance in early Christianity
- Optional visit to the Archaeological Museum of Ancient Corinth
