Itinerary

Morning: Classical Athens

Pick-up from your hotel or accommodation
Visit to the Acropolis* and its surrounding monuments (the Parthenon, the Temple of Athena Nike, the Erechtheion with its famous Caryatids)
From the Acropolis, enjoy panoramic views of Athens, including the Ancient Agora, the Odeon of Herodes Atticus, and the Theatre of Dionysus, ideal for orientation and photography
Introduction to classical Athenian history and architecture

Midday: City Highlights

Drive through central Athens sightseeing during a relaxing ride through the city. You’ll get to see such marvellous sites as Hadrian’s Arch, the Temple of Olympian Zeus and the Kallimarmaro stadium.
Observe the ceremonial changing of the Guard at Syntagma Square
Visit other modern landmarks as House or Parliament at Syntagma (Constitution) Square with the monument known as the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in front of it, the Athenian Trilogy (National Library – University – Academy), and the neoclassical buildings along Vasilissis Sofias Avenue.

Afternoon: Neighborhoods & Local Atmosphere

Time for lunch at a local restaurant. Take your pick from the local food scene according to your preference

Visit the National Archaeological Museum of Athens. Its wide array of exhibits covers all eras of Greek history and culture, and beyond.
