Delphi & Meteora - 2 Days

This two-day private tour combines two of Greece’s most significant UNESCO heritage regions: Delphi and Meteora.

The experience connects ancient mythology and classical religion with Byzantine monastic tradition and dramatic natural landscapes. Carefully paced over two days, the itinerary allows for meaningful exploration without rushing, including an overnight stay in Kalabaka before returning to Athens.

Pick-up and drop-off are available from your hotel or preferred location.

Day 1 Itinerary - Delphi & Mount Parnassus Region

Morning Departure

  • Pick-up from your hotel or preferred location
  • Drive toward Mount Parnassus
  • Stop at Arachova, one of Greece’s most well-known mountain villages

Midday: Delphi Archaeological Site

  • Arrival at Delphi, the sanctuary of Apollo and home of the Delphic Oracle
  • Visit to the Temple of Apollo, where the Pythia delivered her prophecies
  • Exploration of the Castalian Spring, the Temple of Athena Pronaia, the ancient theatre, and the stadium
  • Historical overview of Delphi’s political and spiritual importance in the ancient Greek world

Delphi Archaeological Museum

  • Visit to the Archaeological Museum of Delphi
  • Viewing of significant exhibits, including the Statue of Antinous and the bronze Charioteer of Delphi

Afternoon & Evening

  • Lunch in the Delphi area
  • Drive to Kalabaka
  • Overnight stay in Kalabaka

Day 2 Itinerary - Meteora & Thermopylae

Morning: Meteora

  • Visit to Meteora, a UNESCO World Heritage Site
  • Overview of the rock formations and the development of the monastic community from the 9th century onward
  • Visits to three monasteries (subject to opening schedules)
  • Opportunity for short walks along natural trails with panoramic views

Midday: Thermopylae

  • Drive toward Thermopylae
  • Stop at the monument of King Leonidas commemorating the Battle of 480 BC
  • Visit to the Historical Information Center of Thermopylae for context on the battle and the geographical evolution of the site

Lunch & Return

  • Lunch stop in Kamena Vourla
  • Return drive to Athens
  • Drop-off at your hotel or preferred location
